ERUDITE AND EXPERIENCED PROFESSORS
The professors at the Department of Financial and Economic Law combine sound academic education and knowledge with the passion for teaching and a wealth of practical legal experience.
INTEGRATION OF THEORY AND PRACTICE
We particularly focus on the combination of theory and practice, bringing together classical legal education and training with practical knowledge about financial and economical market practices to enable our students to become comprehensive and versatile financial and economic law professionals.
EXCELLENT LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Law Library and Moot CourtOur Department has a wide range of facilities particular­ly designed to facilitate the study of law, such as inter alia an own legal library, special classrooms for a case study and a moot courtroom.  Moot court proceedings are designed for students to simulate “real” court proceedings. Professors with respective professional experience as judge, prosecutor, and lawyer guide the students during those sessions and demonstrate to them how to prepare themselves in the roles of e.g. a judge, lawyer, prosecutor, plaintiff, defendant or witness.
A Broad variety of domestic and international databases: Furthermore, plentiful electronic and internet resources are accessible to our students, including databases for legal knowledge about financial and economic law field and thereby fostering our students' ability to pursue independent scientific research and the ideal of lifelong learning.
LOGICAL THINKING AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS
All our programs are designed to provide our students with financial and economic law expertise, while simultaneously developing the students' capability of logical thinking and augmenting their analytical skills.
COMBINING CLASSICAL JURISPRUDENCE WITH FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC EXPERTISE
On top of all the traditional legal subject matters and courses, such as civil law, criminal law, public law and procedural law courses, the curriculum of our programs additionally includes and features all kinds of law courses on finance and economy, science and technology, and other applicable laws in the industry. In addition, we also provide expert knowledge and skills for theories and practices on both fundamental laws and financial and economic law.
DEVELOPING AND STRENGTHENING THE STUDENT’S INDIVIDUAL PROFILE
The Department has designed and set up three specially tailored programs such as “Economy and Trade Law”, ”Science and Technology Law” and “Legal Practice”. These programs enable our students to particularly focus on their individual strength and interests, acquire specific background knowledge and enhance their chances for later occupation in the field of their favored choices.

INTEGRATING THEORY AND PRACTICE – PROVIDING ”HANDS-ON” TRAINING
The Department has set up a moot court and a functional classroom for case study for students to familiarize themselves with the practical application of the law in addition to theoretical lessons. By performing “real” court activities in a simulated environment, essential legal activities and fundamental skills such as case analysis, legal argumentation, and legal representation of clients in litigation matters can be effectively trained and enhanced
